I have worn the badge in Southwest Louisiana for 12 years. Rise Hour by Hour is the story of what those years carry, and the faith that keeps the dark from winning.

It isn’t about getting through the year. Some nights it’s about one thing: just survive the hour.

Michael Caleb Plummer has served as a deputy in Southwest Louisiana for 12 years. He never dreamed of writing a book. Through difficult seasons on the job, the quiet strength and goodness he witnessed in the people around him, and a return to the faith he had walked away from, he began to put the stories on paper.
